The purpose of NCEPOD is to improve standards of healthcare for the benefit of the public by undertaking confidential reviews into patient care. Since 1988 the organisation has published over 50 reports which have resulted in significant, positive changes across all aspects of healthcare.

Applications are sought from clinicians in active NHS clinical practice to provide clinical input into the development of NCEPOD studies and reports.

As examples, but not exclusively, tasks would include:

  • • Developing study protocols and questionnaires
  • • Chairing meetings of study advisory groups for the individual studies
  • • Chairing meetings of clinicians reviewing case notes
  • • Report writing
  • • Presentation of findings
This secondment position would be for one year initially, and renewable on an annual basis thereafter.

The successful candidate(s) will be asked to work both remotely and attend the NCEPOD office in London once or twice per month.

Lay Representatives
2 days per month on average – flexible times

Applications are sought from members of the public, service users and carers to join NCEPOD as a core group of lay and patient representatives working on many of the NCEPOD studies. Developing a detailed understanding of NCEPOD and our methods you will be able to provide the ongoing patient and public voice at NCEPOD and support individual, study-specific patients.

As examples, but not exclusively, tasks would include:

  • Helping develop study protocols
  • Participating in Study Advisory Groups
  • Reviewing the data
  • Providing a lay and patient perspective on the reports.
This position would be for one year initially, and renewable on an annual basis thereafter.

The successful candidates will be asked to attend the NCEPOD office in London as required but on average about twice per month.

NCEPOD will reimburse all travel expenses.
