If a patient is admitted to hospital prior to January 1st 2008 but starts PN between January 1st 2008 and March 31st inclusive are they included in the study?: Yes, the important date for inclusion of a patient in the study is the PN start date for the hospital episode.
Are neonates included in the study?: Yes, this study is looking at patients of all ages who received PN as an inpatient between January 1st 2008 and March 31st 2008 inclusive.
The patient was in hospital for 3 months, do you need photocopies of the casenotes for the whole episode?: No, we only require the casenotes from admission to PN start date and the subsequent 2 weeks of PN (or until discharge if this is sooner).
