What is NCEPOD?
We aim to review medical clinical practice and to make
recommendations to improve the quality of the delivery of care. We do this by
undertaking confidential surveys covering many different aspects of medical
care and making recommendations for clinicians and management to implement.

What is the NCEPOD classification?
While analysing data for NCEPOD's 'Who Operates When? II' study
it was felt that the categories in the NCEPOD classification of operation that
were originally defined by NCEPOD in 1988 were no longer sensitive enough. As a
result of this, NCEPOD has updated these categories and renamed them
'Classification of Interventions' to provide greater clarity. Please click
here to find out more.

What recommendations have NCEPOD made that are still relevant?
NCEPOD have reviewed all of the recommendations that have been
made in its reports to 2007 and produced a list of those that remain
relevant. This list is available
here.
