Elective & Emergency Surgery in the Elderly

NCEPOD has is currently working on a study looking into Elective & Emergency Surgery in the Elderly.
Data Collection for the study has now finished, and all Local Reporters should have received a request for data to be returned back to us. Questionnaires have also now been dissemminated with reminders being sent out to follow up those not returned. Information already in distribution on the study is available for download here.

There are three questionnaires related to this study:
- Organisation questionnaire – to gain aspects of organisational care at your site that is related to this study.

This study into the care of elderly patients who died within 30 days of emergency or elective surgery will be launched at the Institue of Mechanical Engineers, 1 Birdcage Walk, London on November 11th 2010. To reserve a place at the launch please click here and download a launch programme.

- Yes. All hospital/units/centres will be asked to take part regardless as NCEPOD need data from all hospitals for this study. Please contact NCEPOD directly using the details in the Contact Us section.
