Publication date: To be agreed
NCEPOD has begun work on a new study looking at adult patients who die of Acute Kidney Injury. This is the first time that NCEPOD will have performed an in depth review of the clinical and organisational management of these patients.
An expert group has been formed and with their help the main study thematics and method of patient identification determined (see protocol for details).
The protocol for this study has been approved by the Expert Group and NCEPOD Steering Group and is available to download here.
Please note, patients for the study will be identified from the Death in Acute Hospitals study spreadsheets, which have already been requested.
The clinical and organisational questionnaires for the study are currently being designed and will be disseminated to relevant clinicians and available on the website in mid March 2008.
I would like to read the protocol - could you send me a copy?
Yes. All hospital/units/centres will be asked to take part regardless as NCEPOD need data from all hospitals for this study. Please contact NCEPOD directly using the details in the Contact Us section.
