The Coroner's Autopsy: Do we deserve better? (2006)

Following a proposal from the Royal College of Pathologists, NCEPOD has reviewed, in detail, the autopsy reports produced for the coroners; this includes both deaths in hospitals and in the community.

Self Assessment Checklist for Trusts (115Kb)
This toolkit allows Trusts to check their progress in adopting NCEPOD's recommendations following the 2006 report 'The Coroner's Autopsy: Do we deserve better?' This toolkit is for your use and information generated should be shared within your trust or mortuary. We do not require the completed forms to be returned to NCEPOD.

 

Organisational Data
These tables provide an anonymous overview of the data returned from the organisational questionnaires to allow individuals to benchmark themselves against similar sized units. This data has been categorised by the number of autopsies performed each year. The relevant site numbers have been sent to all Medical Directors and Mortuary Managers.
